Finding the Right Lingerie for Your Body Type

No two bodies are the same and that’s why there is a wide-range of lingerie styles to complement these varied body types. The main point of purchasing lingerie is to increase your sexuality and put on a sensual display for a loved one, as well as for yourself. For some, the best lingerie is a selection that enhances the body parts you are most proud of.

When choosing lingerie, there is an array of factors to consider when shopping. Droopy breasts, barely there breasts, a large backside or hips, as well as a chubby tummy are just some of the concerns that motivate some of today’s intimate apparel choices. No matter how tall you are or how much you weigh, there is a correct size and style to accommodate your body shape.

Before exploring some of the possibilities, we will start with one of the most common rules of the great lingerie search: vertical lines create the illusion of being taller, while horizontal lines create a wider display.

Small Breasts

For women who have smaller breasts, sometimes drawing attention away from this area can put your mind at ease. This can be achieved when purchasing a sexy panty with a higher cut. If you have a thin frame, you may choose to wear a garter, which can move the eye more towards your seductive waist.

When directly dealing with the breast area, there are top pieces that can place emphasis on breast size, such as a push-up bra with padded cups or a teddy. Some women have found that wearing a babydoll will create the illusion of curves, as well as tops that tie or hook behind the neck.

These are often referred to as a triangle-shaped bra. When visiting the lingerie department, you may also navigate towards items that offer ruffles and lace, as well as opaque bras with trim.

Large Breasts

Now, for women who have larger breasts, the approach is much different. Sometimes, the main goal is to find enough support so that you can breathe easy and feel comfortable. Lingerie items that offer underwires or a triangle shape are good for adding extra support, as well as creating cleavage.

A woman should avoid wearing a halter-top if their shoulders are wider than their hips. When you wish to minimize the appearance of your breasts, a bra made from Spandex or Lycra may help because of the stretchiness of the material, which tends to flatten the breast area. An over-the-shoulder strap on a top piece is also a good selection.

Stomach

Moving down the body, we reach the stomach area, which causes concern for many.

Choosing a loose-fitting piece of lingerie, such as a camisole or babydoll can present a flattering view of the waist. Sometimes, you may want to wear an item that draws the eye away from a shapely stomach.

This can be achieved through cleavage-filled bras, lacy panties or brightly colored thongs. Jewelry can also be used to distract the eyes from the tummy area.

Long silver earrings that dangle may draw the focus to your face and seductive, smoldering eyes can keep them there. For a slimmer look, some women prefer to wear a corset.

Hips & Bottom

When the hips and buttom area appears a bit too wide for your taste, there are ways to draw the eye away from this part of your body as well. A long, loose gown with a see-through top is a good place to start.

Selecting lingerie that displays a straight cut will help to disguise some of the imperfections of your lower body. To create the illusion of longer hips and legs, high-cut bottoms are a nice way of achieving this look.

You could always choose to play the color game and wear darker colors on the lower portion of your body, while the top portion is covered in a lighter shade. This leads to a balancing of the hip and shoulder area.
