Swiss Cheese, Pasta and Ham Bake
Serves 6
Ingredients
25g Australian butter
1 onion, chopped
2 tablespoons flour
2 1/2 cups Australian milk, warmed
2 tablespoons seeded mustard
250g spiral pasta, cooked
100g sliced smoked ham, chopped
1 cup broccoli, blanched
1 cup grated Australian Swiss style cheese
1/4 cup grated Australian parmesan or romano cheese
Method
1. Butter a 2 litre (8-cup) capacity ovenproof dish. Melt butter and cook onion for 3 minutes or until soft. Add flour and cook for a futher 2 minutes.
2. Add milk and stir until mixture just boils and thickenes. Stir in mustard, pasta, ham, broccoli and Swiss style cheese.
3. Spoon into a buttered 2 litre capacity ovenproof dish and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake at 180°C for 15-20 minutes or until browned.
This recipe is suitable for the whole family, toddlers will love this cheesy pasta dish.
